Here we have a beautiful quality French Napoleon III era writing slope with the burr veneered top having kingwood and ebony borders and a Mother of Pearl and brass marquetry motif, the interior having a blue baise lined surface, the raised back lid with key hole opens to reveal fitted inkwell interior with original glass inkwells and lidded pen tray, the sloping surface opens to reveal an interior storage section, the whole item is in good condition and dates to around 1840.
